197 5 Fun Ways To Workout Like A Kid

Working out doesn’t always have to feel like a chore. If you don’t feel like doing your usual gym thing, then don’t! It’s OK to mix it up. Kids don’t think about fitness, they are just active and do what they think is fun. Why don’t we do the same?! Here are some fun ideas.

Dance Class

Last time I did a dance class I burned LOTS of calories. And while yes it did feel like work (my heart rate was up), it was so much fun. I did a hip hop class and will definitely be going back. I love dancing.

Bounce

Those trampoline places are awesome! After 30 minutes of bouncing around I was absolutely exhausted and had to take a break. Just don’t eat or drink anything before you go otherwise you’ll make yourself sick. But it was honestly so much fun. Go with a group of friends!

Oh and also there are trampoline classes at some gyms. I have never tried these but I’m sure they would be lots of fun!

Barre Class

These are becoming so popular and I can see why. It’s such a good workout for your bum and abs and you’ll feel a bit like a ballerina. The workouts aren’t super tough compared to some that you would do at the gym, but they still work and are really enjoyable.

Play On The Playground

Have you ever gone and played on the playground as an adult!? Those monkey bars and flying foxes are so hard. I don’t know how I did it as a kid. Really tests your grip strength and you’ll get a surprisingly good workout.

Aerial Yoga

For a more relaxed type of workout with a difference, aerial yoga could be worth a try. I have never done it but I would love to. It looks so cool, just hanging upside down. It would also be a great stretch!

Indoor Rock Climbing

This is one of my favourite things to do and I don’t know why I don’t do it more often. After 1 hour of this you will feel absolutely exhausted. Another one that is good for grip strength but also full body strength.

Kick A Ball Or Play Backyard Cricket

Just being active and playing sport in the backyard or in the park is fun and better than doing nothing. Just get out there and get moving!
