Megan Fox Diet and Workout Routine

Megan Fox is one of those people that always seem to look great even when they’re running errands. Megan is the first to admit that she works for it. And she works for it HARD.

Megan Fox’s diet and workout routine is strict and her commitment to maintaining her health and physical appearance is something that even the most die-hard fitness buffs can aspire to.

Here’s how she does it.

Megan Fox’s Diet

Megan Fox’s diet is a bit more complicated, as she tries to follow a combination of Keto, Paleo, and the Five-Factor diet.

This means she avoids grains, processed foods, legumes, and other ingredients that kick her body out of ketosis. Eating like that can be hard to plan for and figure out.

But she does it and she takes care to eat five meals throughout the day, breakfast, lunch dinner and two snacks in between.

Megan also used to be on a strict vegan diet, but she was forced to stop after she had lost too much weight. That type of diet isn’t for everyone so she now eats a bit of everything, as that works better for her body and health.

Breakfast

Breakfast is Megan’s favourite and most important meal of the day. It’s what gives her the energy and nutrients she needs to work out and keep up with her super-energetic kids.

She starts things off with a cup of coffee. Then, she moves to a high-protein meal like an egg white omelet with fresh vegetables or skyr (low-fat Icelandic yoghurt) with seasonal fresh fruit and a handful of almonds.

This gives her the perfect combination of healthy carbs (those found in fruits and veg), fat, and protein.

Lunch

For lunch, Megan will go with salad with some grilled or smoked salmon on top for added protein. She loves salmon eat it at least once a day. But if she’s not feeling like fish, she’ll add grilled chicken or turkey breast to the mix.

Since she follows the Paleo/Keto protocols, she’ll drizzle the greens with extra virgin olive oil and some apple cider vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar is widely believed to have a part in fat burning, fat storage and appetite regulation. And apart from that, it also helps you have good gut health which is very important for your overall health.

Dinner

Dinners are similar to lunch. They’re packed with beneficial vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that help her body stay lean. If she hasn’t had salmon for lunch, she’ll have a grilled salmon filet and tons of some seasonal vegetables.

Other days she’ll have salmon sashimi served alongside some steamed and lightly salted edamame, a cup of miso soup, and fresh cucumber salad.

Snacks

Megan tries to eat five smaller meals each day, and two of those are snacks. She loves to drink a smoothie or two throughout the day to help her stay full and energized.

I know what you’re thinking—smoothies are packed with sugar and carbs. And they can be. But Megan’s tend to be made with fresh fruit, a bit of almond milk, and whatever protein powder she’s currently using.

Her other favourite snack are almonds. These nuts are a great way to lower LDL cholesterol, or bad cholesterol.

Foods She Avoids

Megan actively avoids foods like gluten, processed ingredients, and other traditional junk foods. But she doesn’t just do it to help her stay lean. Carbs just don’t make her feel good, which is why her main source of carbs are fruits and veggies.

It’s very important to listen to what your body is telling you. If a food is making your body feel bad, try and cut it out.

Megan tries to stick to her Keto/Paleo routine each day. That said, though most days are truly healthy and designed to help her keep her body as lean and toned as fans have come to expect, she’s not afraid to indulge now and then.

When she’s feeling like something a little more reminiscent of comfort food, she’ll whip up some blueberry oatmeal pancakes or a homemade hot chocolate with fat-free milk.

Megan Fox’s Workout Routine

Megan works hard to stay fit and healthy and she does so weekly.

She’s committed to working out at least three days a week and really pushes herself hard under the guidance of her trainer, Harley Pasternak. Harley has trained many celebrities like Megan Fox, Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian.

Cardio

Megan Fox’s workout routine focuses on cardio a lot. Even when she’s lifting weights or running through a weight circuit, she’s still keeping her heartrate up and getting a cardio workout in.

In the gym, she’ll jog on the treadmill or get a solid workout on the elliptical. When she’s not at the gym, she’ll go for walks with her kids or hit the pavement and run on her own.

Strength Training

Megan does a TON of strength training exercises. She’s a huge fan of both bodyweight training and traditional resistance training, helping her stay toned and even build strength depending on the role she’s preparing for.

She loves resistance training and weightlifting most because it helps her power through calories and fat stores quickly. But her secret to success lies in the way she does her strength workouts.

There are almost no rest periods between exercises. This helps her keep her heartrate up and incorporates more cardio into each session. During each session, she follows a five-phase structure.

Her typical workout includes these exercises:

  • Cardio warm-up on treadmill – 5 minutes
  • Alternating knee crunches – 20 reps
  • Knee pushups – 20 reps
  • Burpees – 20 reps
  • Squats – 20 reps
  • Alternating leg lunges – 20 reps
  • Box jumps 20 reps
  • Repeat circuit 4 times
  • Tabata workout – 8 minutes
  • 5-minute cooldown

This helps her get about an hour of solid resistance training during each session with added cardio movements.

Wrapping Up: Is Her Routine For You?

The Megan Fox diet and workout routine is one that a lot of people will see improvements with. She eats nutrient-dense, low-cal, low-carb foods each day, even on her days “off.” She takes time to be active every day, whether she’s at the gym or spending time with her kids.

That said, her routine may not work for everyone. Her diet is very restrictive and that isn’t something that everyone likes or wants to do. As I said, it’s important to know which foods make you feel good and which don’t.

As a general rule, I recommend starting out with a clean diet plan and a workout routine that gets you active without forcing you to lift tons of weights. This way, you’ll slim down, tone up, and get lean without building bulk. However, if you are looking to gain more muscle, then you should focus on exercises that will help you do that.
